The Team
Nguyen Thi Bao Duyen - In-Country Assistant Manager Vietnam
I am a Buddhist and vegetarian. I believe in ‘live and let live’. I love animals very much and that was the reason why I became a vegetarian. I like to help all beings. Before working for CEF - VN I helped poor people including children whenever I could. I also have saved many abandoned, sick dogs and cats and raised them.
When CEF - VN offered me a job, I thought to myself that this job would be very interesting for me and it was an opportunity to expand my compassion and help more people. Before this time I had wanted to help many people and do charity if I had enough money to that, but I couldn't, so this job is like a dream come true for me.
The more I am doing this work the more I love this job. To me ‘children are the future’ and what we as an adult should do is to invest in the children and give them a bright future. The most important thing for me is to see children with happy faces. They are so precious and they live in the present without worries about life. As adults we can’t be the same as we have so many things to worry about. And that was something that appealed me about this job and I felt that I must do this job.
When I was young I loved to dance and be on the computer; but now I am older my passion is to do charity work whether with children or adults. I want to help the best I can to reduce their poverty. Another passion is to cook vegan food and help others become vegan, as a plant-based diet is best for our health and environment. When not working I meditate whenever I can and spend time with my children.
